Expertise and Experience:
Dr. Odell is a Stanford and UCLA trained practicing anesthesiologist and pain management physician, board certified in anesthesiology (DABA) and pain medicine (American Board of Pain Medicine) and board certified in interventional pain medicine by the World Institute of Pain (FIPP). He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Stanford and has published in the lumbar decompression and electromedicine literature. A significant percentage of his pain practice has involved personal injury patients, where he has often served as the treating expert. He has testified in 4-5 court cases and given 40+ depositions. Most have been on the plaintiff?s side, but he has recently been involved in defense cases as well. Cases include personal injury (mostly plaintiff) and medical malpractice (defense and plaintiff).

Dr. Odell is the President and CEO New Vision Pain Management in Las Vegas, NV. As a fellow of the Medical Scientist Training Program, he received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Stanford University in 1974 and his MD degree from Stanford in 1976. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at UCLA, and served as chief resident at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in 1982. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology (1983), American Academy of Pain Management (2001) and the American Board of Pain Medicine (2007).

Most recently, Dr. Odell has been serving as a consultant to the Sanexas Corporation, Las Vegas, NV. This company has produced a series of specific parameter Electronic Signaling Treatment (EST) devices. Dr. Odell has combined the clinical benefits of these EST devices with interventional pain management techniques to produce dramatic patient outcomes in a wide variety of refractory neuropathic pain states, including low back pain, fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

He served as a staff anesthesiologist at Long Beach Community Hospital and Saint Bernardine's Medical Center in the 1980s and early 1990s, where he was instrumental in developing an acute pain management and OB anesthesia programs. He has been practicing pain management in the Las Vegas and Phoenix areas since 2001. He was instrumental in the development of a neurodiagnostic test used in the clinic to detect the spinal level of the pain generator in neck and low back pain. He has extensive experience with a wide variety of non-interventional and interventional acute and chronic pain management techniques, including vertebral axial decompression and electroanalgesia. Dr. Odell is a member of the International Spinal Intervention Society (ISIS), American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP), ASA, and ASRA.
